Herb-E

Migvapor
Avg. Rating 4.62/5 (4 reviews)
$59.95
One of the most affordable battery-powered vaporizers around, the Herb-E is an ultraportable, pocket friendly companion. Able to hide away entirely in the hand and hardly larger than a couple of lighters, it’s one of the smallest low-cost portables around. With an attractive design and simple operation, the Herb-E is focused on beginners who are just looking to dip their toes into the world of vaping without spending an arm and a leg on a high end setup. If you’re looking to try out vaporizing without complicated butane setups or investing too much right off the bat, the Herb-E is one of your best options out there. If you’re looking for a stronger experience overall without breaking the bank, we’d recommend something like the Boundless CF.

5/5

TL:DR – 5 out of 5 if you are looking for a very discreet vaping pen that can give you a nice buzz in social situations.

This was my first experience with a vaporizer. I bought this as a replacement for my Cloudpen. It was not the same sort of device (most of you are going DUH!). From my cloudpen I could get 1-2 strong hits, and then done.

Now you might be asking “This doesn’t sound like a great review, why 5 stars?” and I am glad you asked that. If I were reviewing a desktop system and had these experiences, I’d probably be quite frustrated, but I bought this before there were any reviews and it took me a few weeks to getting around to figuring it out. As the reviewer mentioned above, this isn’t for sitting down and getting baked. This is for preloading and then using discreetly before a movie, seeing your in-laws, meeting your girlfriends parents, or something. It’s a social device, much like the discreet vape pens for nicotine. The reason for 5 stars is because they got exactly what they were going for. A small, very discreet, easily maintainable, vaping pen for well under $100 that is very usable in social situations. They just need a little better instructions for people just getting into this sort of thing.

One thing I would like to mention is the smell. I am finding the smell associated with ***t to be greatly decreased in this manner. I think this is probably a feature of vaping in general, but it’s worth mentioning as this makes the discrete nature of the device that much more effective.

This is the best method I have found for using the pen effectively.
It’s good to give it about 30 seconds to warm after the lights go steady, then start your draw. One thing to understand is that this needs a long slow draw. Don’t hollow your cheeks like Skelletor trying to get a strong hit. Instead draw slow and long straight into your lungs. You can’t french inhale this. It won’t feel overly hot and you won’t get that lung burn, more like a tickle. You’ll really taste the flavor “pop” at some point. That’s when it seems to really kick in vaping. Resist the urge to start drawing harder, and keep a slow steady draw so that you still taste the flavors.

At the end you’ll feel it down in your lungs. Then exhale and repeat until the lights go off. There is very little cloud to the exhale and sometimes it takes a very bright light to see it.

Experiment with your draw and how slow or fast you go while still getting the vape flavors. One you find your sweet spot, the pen works reasonably well.

Also, it’s worth mentioning that I usually get 4 hit cycles on “normal” mode Herb-e. Then I can usually get one more hit cycle in “Angry” Herb-e mode.

FYI: At the time of this review I have also purchased the Dray. This has helped inform me about some of my review here and the distinct advantages the little Herb-e has. Herb-e makes a great companion device to the Dray.

FAQ

  • Is the Herb-E compatible with concentrates?

Unfortunately the Herb-E can’t use concentrates on its own. ‘Sandwiching’ your wax or resin between layers of herb works reasonably well in a pinch, however we’d recommend something like the Haze Dual V3 for frequent use of both herb and wax.

  • Can you use the Herb-E with a water pipe?

Unfortunately there is no bubbler compatibility or attachment for the Herb-E.

  • Is the Herb-E good for group sessions?

As it’s quite small, the Herb-E is best suited for 1-2 people. If you would like a vaporizer good for larger groups, we’d recommend the Boundless CF instead.

  • Is the Herb-E’s battery replaceable?

Unfortunately you cannot remove the battery of the Herb-E. If you’re looking for the cheapest 18650 compatible vaporizer, check out the Arizer Air.
