Weed Vapes and Denser Flavour
Vaping weed is becoming increasingly popular in our fast paced, technologically advanced world. Young adults are turning to vapes rather than traditional pipes for a number of reasons; it is considered more convenient and hassle free, vapes do not require a high level of expertise to operate and hence it’s easier to smoke weed recreationally and as a group activity, and vapes are far more discreet than traditional pipes. This makes them a solid choice for most young adults, especially college students and young professionals.
Many vape users are also of the opinion that vaped weed tastes much more potent, with some users describing the taste as almost ‘vegetal’, in that it tastes less like smoke and fire, and more like the herb itself.
Several vape users across many vape forums have also described the taste of weed as more earthy and fruity when smoked in a vape, as opposed to the ashy flavour they experience when they smoke through a bowl!
In fact, cannabis enthusiasts have been vaping cannabis instead of smoking it for years. Call us crazy, but we would rather enjoy the full flavour of our favourite strains, than burning it away.
The stronger flavour in vapes comes partly from terpene oils and terpenoids, which are burned away in a traditional joint, but enhanced through a vape, making vaping a more popular activity in the cannabis community.
We aren’t here to tell you how to enjoy your cannabis, but here are a few facts about vaping as opposed to traditional smoking, especially concerning getting the most flavour and terpenes out of your herb:
Vapes simply heat the product instead of burning it, allowing you to extract the maximum amount of active ingredients such as terpenes and cannabinoids like THC, and turning them into a misty and concentrated vapour, and unearthing their flavour profile for maximum enjoyment.
This does have the added benefit of not producing smoke, making using a vaporizer not only smoke detector friendly in your apartment, but it also helps to stay discreet. Vaping produces a ‘popcorn-kernel’ like scent, as opposed to the smell produced when burning the herb, and so, not only do you get more flavour out of your herb while vaping, but it’s also ideal if you have a roommate or guests who are sensitive to the smell of cannabis.
You may also need to choose a higher temperature on your vaporizer to further bring out the flavour of the herb.
While dry herb vapes do not produce impressive smoke clouds, or dense vapors, they do bring out more flavours in the weed, as they work directly on heating the herb. This is good for the discriminating vaper, and is a sophisticated approach to vaping!
